This weekend I was over the moon as my comedy book, The Bumpkinton Tales: Volume One finally made it onto the shelves at my local Waterstones bookshop.

Yes, there’s me looking far too pleased. Believe me, it wasn’t easy and involved a lot of documentation and a few e-mails to secure its place, but for any readers living in Liverpool, UK, you can now pop along to Liverpool One and pick up my book.

It feels like Waterstones know me well…

On top of putting my book on the shelf, I was also surprised to find who was next to me.

Yes, if you look closely below I’m next to David Duchovny.

‘So what?’ you may think.

Well, The X-Files is my favourite show of all time, and Fox Mulder is my all-time favourite character in anything ever.

Hopefully, those X-Files fans searching for his book in-store will find mine and decide to add it to their basket for a light, Christmas read. Well, it could happen, although that would probably be an X-File in itself!

They hold six copies of The Bumpkinton Tales: Volume One, while there’s only one of David’s book, Holy Cow.

Now, either Waterstones are expecting a rush of Bumpkinton fans any minute or David Duchovny has sold more, and there’s only one left. I think we all know which is the more likely

The former. Clearly.

So, I’m chuffed, even if I barely make a penny from Waterstones sales, it’s lovely to see my little book on the shelf.
